Mercer in Lisbon is seeking a skilled actuary to join the Actuarial Valuations team. This hybrid role requires in-office presence at least three days per week and involves supporting the UK Wealth business with pension valuations and related data work.

You will collaborate with experienced analysts and project managers to prepare valuations, participant statements and client listings, reconcile data, and ensure timely delivery to high professional standards.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in math, actuarial science, statistics, economics, finance or related field.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Strong problem solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills in order to prioritize and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (in particular a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Responsabilidades

  • Work as part of a team supporting consultants and clients in all aspects of pensions actuarial work.
  • Request, gather, review and upload client data, and assist in the preparation of actuarial valuations, participant statements and/or client listings.
  • Reconcile data and assets from previous valuations and prepare summaries of data, assets, and benefits defined in the plan documentation.
  • Check data or plan questions related to valuations and benefit calculations done by more junior analysts.
  • Calculate and analyze special retirement projects.
  • Prepare government forms and regulatory documentation.
  • Support your team on project management and problem resolution.
  • Act as a key point of contact for technical and scheme-specific queries received from clients, third parties and other Mercer businesses.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time and to the high standards required.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Actuarial Valuations team at Mercer. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As an actuary you will be an integral part of an exciting project, where we support our UK Wealth business.

You will be working together with experienced analysts and project managers in all aspects of the Pension Plans & Retirement area. Apart from the team based in Portugal, you will also work in a daily basis with the UK-based consultants.

We will count on you to:
