A leading provider of chemical specialties in Porto is offering an opportunity for an Accountant Trainee. This role involves supporting global finance teams, bookkeeping, and preparing reconciled financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Accounting, good English skills, and a desire to learn. Flexible hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Initial experience with IFRS reporting in a global business setting is a plus.
• High level of enthusiasm, desire to learn and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsabilités

• Support the bookkeeping of one entity in one country following IFRS and local GAAP.
• Prepare reconciled financial performance statements and analyses.
• Participate in team meetings, presenting ideas and solutions.
• Ensure up-to-date accounting standards are considered for financial statements.
• Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting as required.

Overview

SurTec, a leading provider of chemical specialities for surface treatment, brings an opportunity for an entry‑level accountant who will support global finance teams across multiple legal entities.

Responsibilities

• Support the bookkeeping of one entity in one country following IFRS and local GAAP, focused on accounts payable and receivable management.
• Prepare a full suite of reconciled financial performance statements, supporting schedules and analyses for each operating legal entity within set timetables.
• Participate in team meetings, presenting ideas, commentary and supporting solutions in a suitable media environment.
• Ensure that all up‑to‑date accounting standards are considered for financial statements, highlighting training needs where appropriate.
• Assist with ad‑hoc financial reporting as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or General Business.
