Your Role

Mission: The role bridges operations and management, providing technical expertise and support to improve transport performance.

Activities

Lead daily transport performance

• Monitor carrier performance closely
• Challenge carriers with alternative solutions
• Track recurrent deviations
• Report on global performance to carrier & procurement management
• Proactively communicate with customers
• Support operations as the first escalation point

Manage technical quotations

• Ensure all specifications are available
• Clarify technical requirements with customers as needed
• Request quotations from carriers
• Analyze technical and cost responses from carriers
• Send detailed quotations to customers
• Provide clear instructions to operations
• Report on global costs and solutions to procurement
• Support freight audit team with cost gap analysis
• Challenge alternative solutions with carriers
• Report rate card adjustments when necessary

Contribute to continuous improvement

• Manage and resolve major operational issues requiring technical expertise
• Communicate operational gaps to managers for SOP adjustments or team awareness
• Manage claims and complaints to support resolution
• Contribute to regulatory compliance monitoring

Coordinate between operations, customers, and support functions

• Participate in weekly and monthly performance reviews with carriers
• Participate in weekly operational reviews with customers

Skills

The ideal candidate should have a solid background in transport & logistics:

• At least 5 years of freight forwarding experience, with strong knowledge in air, sea, and land transportation, and transport regulations
• Knowledge of customs management
• Customer-oriented with stress management skills
• Ability to work independently with remote teams
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
• Good communication skills
• Well-organized with good priority management

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in freight forwarding, with strong airfreight and customs knowledge
• Experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
• Bachelor’s degree +3 years in transport and logistics (desirable)
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French is desirable

Organizational Relationships

• Reports directly to the 3PL & procurement manager within a matrix organization
• Collaborates with operations, support functions, contract managers, and information systems managers
