Job summary

Vertex Agility is seeking an experienced production support specialist to back UK business hours. You will act as SME for BAU support while contributing to Agile delivery in a global enterprise environment.

The role focuses on backend IBM iSeries systems, with responsibilities spanning incident resolution, data integrity, and process improvements. Strong English communication and collaboration across teams are essential.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Experience in application support and/or software development in an enterprise/global environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong written and spoken English, with ability to collaborate with global teams.
Hands-on experience with IBM iSeries and ILE RPG; SQLRPG/APIs are a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide responsive and reliable production support during UK business hours.
Diagnose and resolve incidents with understanding of system functionality and integrations.
Engage with business users and stakeholders to manage end-to-end issue resolution.
Manage support tickets, prioritise workload, and deliver backlog fixes.
Perform BAU operational activities and contribute to project delivery.
Produce solution designs and technical documentation aligned with standards.
Promote quality engineering and Agile/DevOps practices; identify tooling improvements.
