Within the Wealth Management technology team, the role supports a UK Discretionary Investment business. The platform delivers post-trade investment services including trade settlement, corporate actions, fee processing, transfer-in/out processing, performance measurement, client reporting and regulatory reporting for UK wealth clients (personal, corporate and trust).
This role is primarily focused on production support during UK business hours, acting as the SME for BAU support, while also contributing to delivery work in an Agile environment. The applications are back-end systems primarily hosted on IBM iSeries.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide responsive and reliable production support during UK business hours, ensuring service availability in line with SLAs.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents and problems, with a strong understanding of system functionality and upstream/downstream integrations.
- Engage directly with business users and key stakeholders to manage end-to-end issue resolution, providing timely and effective communication.
- Manage support tickets, prioritise workload, and deliver short-term mitigations and long-term fixes through the backlog.
- Perform regular BAU operational activities, including:
- Annual data archiving
- Server role swaps
- Backup and restore exercises
- Security reviews
- IT controls testing
- Audit support
- Contribute to project delivery, including requirements analysis, functional/technical design, development, testing and deployment.
- Produce solution designs and technical documentation aligned with engineering standards and best practices.
- Promote quality engineering and actively participate in Agile/DevOps ways of working.
- Identify opportunities for tooling, automation and process improvements.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Experience in application support and/or software development, ideally within an enterprise/global environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong system and business analysis capabilities.
- Solid hands-on experience with IBM iSeries and ILE RPG.
- Exposure to modernisation approaches such as SQLRPG, Free-Format RPG and APIs is an advantage.
- Strong written and spoken English, with proven ability to collaborate with global teams.
- Self-motivated with strong time-management skills and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
- Basic understanding of investment banking or wealth management.
- Knowledge of securities custody or core banking is advantageous.
- Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments is beneficial.
