Job summary

U.S. Bank, via its Elavon unit, is seeking a DevOps Engineer for its Warsaw team. The role focuses on building a modern, cloud-native core banking platform with Thought Machine Vault, requiring strong AWS and IaC expertise.

The position is permanent and expects three days in the Warsaw office weekly. You will design, implement and operate automated infrastructure, pipelines and observability, while ensuring regulatory compliance and high availability in a highly regulated financial services

Qualifications

• Extensive DevOps experience in banking or regulated environments.
• Strong AWS cloud engineering experience.
• Hands-on with IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting in Python or similar.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
• Kubernetes and Docker proficiency.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Agile delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate cloud infrastructure underpinning banking platform.
• Develop and maintain IaC to provision resilient environments.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation across delivery lifecycles.
• Ensure security, governance and regulatory controls are met.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability and throughput.
• Support incident management and post-incident reviews.
