Job summary

HSBC Krakow is seeking a capable valuation professional to perform IPV and fair value processes for London and Paris trading hubs. You will collaborate with global product control teams to ensure accurate valuations, prepare for valuation committees, and drive consistency across sites while enhancing cost efficiency.

The role requires a university degree in finance/economics or maths/engineering, strong English, and a proactive, analytics-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• University degree in finance/economics or maths/engineering.
• Experience in financial markets or treasury is preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, products, accounting and valuation.
• Excellent analytical and proactive problem-solving.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Valuation/Product Control experience is preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel, MS Access and VBA are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Engage with core Product Control to reflect valuation conclusions in books and ensure clear business communication.
• Support governance of fair value and participate in valuation committees.
• Collaborate with GVG Analytics and teams in London/Paris to identify and implement fair value adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with FIM requirements and accounting/regulatory standards; liaise with audit and regulators.
• Promote consistency of policies across sites and drive cost-efficiency initiatives.
• Identify, communicate and resolve issues related to people, processes, or systems.
• Support process optimisation and opportunities for automation or centralisation.
