Job description

Transformation Specialist (GBS Transformation Office)

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

At Jacobs, we deliver projects that truly make a difference — from smart manufacturing and sustainable water systems to modern infrastructure and cutting-edge technologies.

Our solutions support the development of cities, industries, and innovation, addressing today’s challenges both locally and globally.

As part of the Project Management Office (PMO), this role is responsible for driving process transformation and business optimization initiatives from assessment through implementation and adoption. The position combines change management, stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and project governance activities to support the successful delivery of strategic initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end process transformation and business improvement initiatives, taking accountability from initial problem definition and current-state assessment through solution design, implementation, adoption, and benefits realization.
  • Take ownership of assigned transformation topics, structure ambiguous business problems, define the improvement approach, align stakeholders, and drive execution from concept to completion.
  • Assess current processes, pain points, stakeholder needs, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities to develop practical, business-focused recommendations and implementation plans.
  • Design future-state processes, operating model improvements, governance changes, and business optimization solutions in collaboration with process owners and business stakeholders.
  • Drive implementation of agreed improvements, coordinating actions, owners, timelines, risks, communications, adoption activities, and follow-up to ensure sustainable outcomes.
  • Facilitate working sessions, workshops, governance meetings, and decision forums with cross-functional and senior stakeholders to secure alignment, unblock decisions, and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Prepare senior stakeholder-ready recommendations, decision materials, status updates, risk summaries, mitigation plans, and implementation progress reports.
  • Establish and maintain project governance, KPI frameworks, adoption measures, readiness indicators, and benefits tracking to monitor progress, manage performance, and evidence business outcomes.
  • Proactively identify delivery risks, resistance points, adoption barriers, and operational dependencies, and define clear mitigation actions to keep initiatives on track.
  • Partner with Process Owners, Project Managers, OCM, HR, Finance, IT, Data & Automation, and business stakeholders to ensure transformation solutions are practical, operationally viable, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Develop clear, executive-level communication materials, leadership updates, presentations, talking points, engagement plans, and training support content to support implementation and adoption.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of transformation delivery practices, including templates, playbooks, lessons learned, knowledge sharing, and mentoring less experienced team members where required.

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Communications, HR, Project Management, Transformation, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in transformation, business improvement, operating model design, consulting, professional services, GBS/shared services, client-facing advisory, or complex corporate transformation environments; experience in finance and accounting transformation would be a strong advantage.
  • Proven leadership experience in medium to large, cross-functional transformation initiatives, including ownership of delivery governance, stakeholder alignment, risks, governance, deliverables, adoption activities, and benefits realization.
  • Strong experience developing transformation roadmaps, implementation plans, stakeholder engagement approaches, change and adoption plans, readiness frameworks, leadership updates, decision materials, training support materials, and adoption messaging.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder assessments, organizational impact assessments, readiness assessments, feedback analysis, and resistance management activities.
  • Understanding of operating model design, process optimization, business transformation, continuous improvement, change management approaches, and GBS/shared services operating environments, including finance and accounting operations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including ability to influence senior stakeholders, facilitate alignment, manage expectations, and support decision‑making.
  • Strong analytical and business communication skills, with ability to translate complex transformation topics into clear, structured, and audience‑appropriate messages.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and operate effectively in international, matrixed, and fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to independently take a topic, structure the approach, engage the right stakeholders, drive execution, and deliver outcomes from start to finish with limited supervision.
  • Prosci, Agile, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, or Business Analysis certification may be beneficial.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and collaboration tools; Power BI, SharePoint or similar tools may be an advantage.

We offer:

  • The opportunity to work in an experienced team within a global company operating across all areas of infrastructure investment.
  • A comprehensive benefits package: private medical care, additional life insurance, flexible benefits selection via the MyBenefit platform, support for employees and their families in challenging life situations, and much more.
  • Flexible start times (between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM) and “short Fridays” (Monday–Thursday: 8.5 hours, Friday: 6 hours).
