Job summary

F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG is seeking a Technical Lead for Application Observability in a global, regulated healthcare technology setting. You will shape the technical strategy, mentor engineers, and align observability platforms with architectural standards across multi-cloud environments.

You will drive improvements in reliability, security, and cost-efficiency while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable observability solutions and enforce OpenTelemetry practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software development, DevOps/DevSecOps, or platform engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in a multinational, highly regulated setting (pharmaceutical/healthcare tech preferred).
• Proven track record guiding geo-distributed engineering teams and driving architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical vision, architecture roadmap, and design for the Application Observability platform.
• Lead the design and deployment of enterprise-grade observability capabilities (e.g., Grafana Cloud) and telemetry standards.
• Promote OpenTelemetry and drive SRE adoption to reduce MTTR and boost velocity.
• Oversee IaC, automated CI/CD pipelines, and containerized infrastructure across multi-clouds.
• Coach senior engineers and geo-distributed teams, fostering learning and innovation.
• Collaborate with Product Owner, architects, MSPs/vendors to translate strategy into specs.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and security standards in healthcare domains.
