Job summary

Roche is seeking a Tech Lead for Application Observability to steer the technical strategy, architecture, and end-to-end delivery of the observability platform. You will mentor senior engineers, promote architectural consistency, and ensure scalable, secure, and cost-effective products through their lifecycle.

You will balance deep technical execution with leadership, coaching geo-distributed teams, and negotiating priorities with cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on software development, DevOps/DevSecOps, or platform engineering.
• 2+ years in a multinational, highly regulated setting (pharma/healthcare tech preferred).
• Proven track record leading geo-distributed engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical vision, architecture roadmap, and high-level design for the Application Observability platform.
• Lead design and deployment of enterprise-grade observability capabilities and telemetry frameworks.
• Oversee IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized infrastructure with strong security practices.
• Coach senior engineers and foster continuous learning across distributed teams.
• Collaborate with Product Owner, architects, and external MSPs/vendors to align technical work with business goals.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and security standards in healthcare domains.
