Job summary

Reqiva Ltd is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead for a high-volume B2C mobile app, spanning Europe-based markets. You will own the architecture across backend, mobile/frontend and QA, guiding a squad of 5–10 engineers and collaborating closely with Product.

This role blends technical leadership with active coding, system design and delivery accountability in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

Hands-on backend engineering experience, ideally with Java.
Experience leading a small cross-functional engineering team.
Experience building or scaling a B2C mobile product.
Strong backend architecture, API design and distributed systems knowledge.
Understanding of mobile/frontend engineering and enforcing high standards.
Experience designing systems from scratch.
Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on development.
Excellent communication with Product and senior stakeholders.
Fintech, payments, lending or high-volume consumer exposure is advantageous.
Multi-market experience, especially in emerging markets, would help.

Responsibilities

Lead a cross-functional engineering squad across backend, mobile/frontend and QA.
Own the technical architecture supporting a large-scale B2C mobile app.
Design and develop backend services, APIs, integrations and data models.
Set engineering standards across the squad and ensure high-quality delivery.
Guide the mobile/frontend team and provide direction on architecture and UX.
Own technical delivery, release quality and production reliability.
Collaborate with Product to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Mentor engineers through code reviews and direct feedback.
Contribute hands-on to development and tackle complex engineering challenges.
