Job summary

LyondellBasell Industries in Poznań, Poland, is seeking a Tax Data Specialist to support data collection, governance, and rollout of solutions for the tax function. The role sits in the Poznan Poland Shared Service Centre and focuses on meeting increasing data needs of the Tax Department and digitization efforts.

You will analyze data, automate processes, and collaborate across time zones while leveraging SAP for data extraction and Power BI for presentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, MIS/CIS, Data/Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a finance or accounting data analysis role.
• Strong ability to promote innovation and efficiency by streamlining and standardizing processes.

• Prepare documentation of Tax Team’s data needs and their interdependencies with processes and stakeholders.
• Act as a member of the Tax Process & Data Excellence Team to address recurring and ad hoc data requirements.

We are looking for someone who has the ambition to contribute to LYB’s continuous improvement strategy and ensure LYB can meet the increasing data needs of our Tax Department and the demands of a worldwide tax authority’s digitization of tax. The role of the Tax Data Specialist is part of our Poznan Poland Shared Service Centre and will primarily support the data collection activities of the tax function, including optimization of data gathering, design, governance, implementation and roll‑out of solutions that support LYB’s tax function.

A Day in the Life

• Prepare the documentation of the Tax Team’s overall data needs and their interdependencies with other processes and stakeholders.
• Contribute as a member of the Tax Process & Data Excellence Team, being a direct contact for Tax Teams to address both recurring and ad hoc data requirements.Through this work, you will identify gaps and opportunities to implement solutions that respond to evolving legislative requirements and business needs.
• Analyze data, automate processes, and integrate systems to enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop and provide input into the overarching data management strategy for the Tax Department.

You Bring This Value

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, MIS/CIS, Data/Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a finance or accounting data analysis role with strong evidence of promoting innovation and efficiency by streamlining and standardizing business processes while leading others in an organization with similar operational scale and geographic footprint.
• A background in tax is not required. Strong candidates with the relevant skills from non‑tax backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Understanding of end-to-end financial data processes and their impact on systems and reporting (nice-to-have).
• Ability to work effectively with teams across multiple time zones.
• Ability to leverage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system configuration knowledge of SAP to extract data efficiently from the systems to support tax team processes and deliverables
• Experience working with large data sets and combining data from diverse sources, including designing and performing optimal data extraction and presentation.
• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. Power BI knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of ETL (extract, transform and load) tools like Alteryx, Power Query, or similar is a plus
• Interest in exploring and applying AI concepts to enhance business processes and solutions.
• Commitment to continuous learning and adoption of new tools, technologies, and methods to drive improvement.
• Confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and recommend best practices to strengthen data and system workflows.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams and stakeholders, lead projects, and deliver initiatives on time.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while staying motivated to meet deadlines.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Additional languages are an advantage.
