Job summary

Akiem in Poland is seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer to lead strategic procurement for defined product groups across Europe, collaborating with internal teams and international partners to shape future purchasing operations.

The role requires a relevant degree, at least 5 years of strategic procurement experience, strong analytical skills, international supplier management, and willingness to travel to Germany once a month; English fluent, German a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Procurement, or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in strategic procurement.
• Strong analytical and structured work approach.
• Experience with international supplier management and global suppliers (railway industry a plus).

Responsibilities

• Independently manage strategic procurement for defined commodity groups across European locations.
• Develop and implement commodity and supplier strategies aligned with business goals.
• Lead price and contract negotiations with suppliers.
• Plan and manage tendering processes (RFQs/RFPs) and evaluate supplier proposals.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage risk and continuity of supply.
• Coordinate with Legal to ensure compliant procurement processes and contract documentation.
• Report procurement performance and savings KPIs.
