Job summary

METRO Global Solution Center Szczecin is seeking a Stock Accounting Specialist to process daily and monthly stock accounting transactions, manage stock movements, and ensure data accuracy through reconciliations and interfaces with SAP.

You will support month‑end closing, investigate discrepancies, and contribute to process improvements while collaborating with METRO Group entities. English proficiency and strong Excel skills are required; SAP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Accounting experience in a corporate environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge of stock valuation topics is a plus.
• Experience with margin controlling and reconciliations between presystems and the accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Process daily and monthly Stock Accounting transactions, including stock movements and relevant system interfaces.
• Perform stock reconciliations, margin reconciliations, and other accounting controls to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Calculate and post stock-related adjustments, including Stock Valuation Allowance (SVA), where applicable.
• Support month-end closing activities, reporting, and analysis of accounting data.
• Investigate discrepancies and provide explanations and supporting information to internal and external auditors.
• Contribute to process improvement, standardization, automation, and transition projects.
• Cooperate with internal stakeholders and METRO Group entities to ensure high-quality and timely service delivery.
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures and other process documentation.
• Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities and support an effective backup structure within the team.
