Job summary

METRO Global Solution Center PL in Szczecin is seeking a Stock Accounting Specialist to handle daily and monthly stock transactions, reconciliations, and related adjustments. You will support month-end closing, data analysis, and documentation while collaborating with METRO Group entities to ensure timely service delivery.

Qualifications

• Accounting experience.
• SAP experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and Excel knowledge.
• Knowledge of stock valuation topics.
• Experience with margin controlling and reconciliation between presystems and the accounting system.
• Good organization of own work in changing environment.
• High orientation on goals realization.
• Good command of English (B1/B2).

Responsibilities

• Process daily and monthly stock accounting transactions, incl. stock movements and system interfaces.
• Perform stock and margin reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.
• Calculate and post stock-related adjustments (SVA) where applicable.
• Support month-end closing, reporting, and analysis.
• Investigate discrepancies and support audits.
• Contribute to process improvement, standardization, automation, and transitions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and METRO Group entities for timely service.
• Maintain SOPs and process documentation.
• Participate in training and knowledge sharing; back up team.

Job description

• Process daily and monthly Stock Accounting transactions, including stock movements and relevant system interfaces
• Perform stock reconciliations, margin reconciliations, and other accounting controls to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Calculate and post stock-related adjustments, including Stock Valuation Allowance (SVA), where applicable
• Support month-end closing activities, reporting, and analysis of accounting data.
• Investigate discrepancies and provide explanations and supporting information to internal and external auditors
• Contribute to process improvement, standardization, automation, and transition projects.
• Cooperate with internal stakeholders and METRO Group entities to ensure high-quality and timely service delivery
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures and other process documentation.
• Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities and support an effective backup structure within the team

Our requirements:

• Accounting experience
• Work experience with SAP will be an advantage.
• Analytical skills and good knowledge of Excel.
• Knowledge of stock valuation topics nice to have.
• Experience with margin controlling and reconciliation between presystems and the accounting system in addition.
• Good organization of own work in changing environment.
