Job summary

Redpanda Data Inc. seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own the UI platform powering all Redpanda products. You will lead the migration to product-based microfrontends, shape the host shell, remote contracts, and shared standards across EMEA and the Americas.

You will drive architecture decisions, ensure accessibility and performance, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product and design to deliver a cohesive frontend experience.

Qualifications

• Significant experience building and operating production-grade customer-facing web applications at scale with React and TypeScript
• Production experience with microfrontend architecture and Module Federation, or equivalent
• Leadership of large technical projects end-to-end from design to production operations
• Ability to set architectural guidelines and drive adoption across multiple teams
• Strong frontend fundamentals: architecture, state management, data fetching, performance, accessibility
• Experience with AI-assisted software development workflows and tools
• Fluency in English, strong communication in async, globally distributed teams
• Ability to collaborate with engineering, product, design and customers

Responsibilities

• Own the Redpanda UI platform end to end: host shell, remote contracts, versioning, dependencies, routing, auth, and runtime behavior
• Define migration path for splitting product surfaces into independently deployable microfrontends across EMEA and US time zones
• Define graceful degradation and fallback patterns for cloud usability when remotes are missing or incompatible
• Raise release confidence with end-to-end and certification tests across environments
• Set and uphold frontend standards through RFCs, design reviews, and code reviews
• Evolve the design system and component library for cross-surface compatibility
• Represent frontend in cross-team architecture discussions, aligning API and UI decisions
• Participate in on-call escalation to improve operational health
• Mentor engineers across UX and product teams
