Job summary

hyperexponential (hx) is building an AI-powered platform transforming pricing and underwriting in a multi-territory, multi-product environment. As a Staff Platform Engineer, you’ll own the technical direction, define architecture standards, and enable autonomous, AI-driven workflows at scale.

You’ll shape security and reliability practices while empowering engineering teams to move faster and safer. You’ll work with a team that values clear trade-offs, durable decisions, and a culture of growth.

Qualifications

• Defined architecture, standards, and patterns for a platform domain over multiple quarters.
• Able to make high-judgement calls on build vs buy, depth vs breadth, and long-term coherence.
• Experience guiding senior engineers, architects, and stakeholders to durable technical decisions.
• Defined how AI and automation embed into the platform at an architectural level.

Responsibilities

• Establish a coherent 12–18 month technical direction for the platform with milestones.
• Drive broad adoption of platform capabilities via clear documentation and design.
• Define architectural patterns enabling autonomous, AI-augmented workflows across the org.
• Embed security, reliability, and operational excellence into platform standards.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise team capability through constructive collaboration.
