Job summary

InPost FinTech is seeking a Staff Engineer to define the technical direction for our infrastructure, deployment, and operational reliability across Payments Core, Merchant, and Consumer. You’ll multiply team output by clarifying architecture, setting standards, and leading across teams while owning the agentic engineering harness’ backbone.

You’ll shape cloud topology, pipelines, observability, and security posture for long-term viability; report to the Senior Engineering Manager and bridge

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software or platform engineering; 2+ years cross-team leadership/architecture authority
• 3+ years building infrastructure for distributed payments or fintech systems
• Deep expertise in container orchestration (Kubernetes), CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
• Cloud architecture evaluation/operation at large scale (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Observability, SRE practices, monitoring and SLO design
• Security and compliance architecture incl. PCI DSS/PSD2
• Experience developing agentic engineering harness infrastructure
• Database and message-broker trade-off reasoning at scale
• Excellent technical writing (ADRs, RFCs)
• English proficiency at B2+
• University degree in CS/IT or related field

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain infra architecture across cloud topology, networking, environments and deployment pipelines
• Author ADRs and RFCs for infrastructure and platform decisions across teams
• Evaluate cloud service choices, container orchestration, message broker topology, observability, and cost optimisation
• Own evolution of agentic engineering harness infrastructure layer including CI/CD integration and guardrails
• Drive org-wide technical change: define golden paths and drive adoption
• Provide technical input into platform and product strategy; mentor on reliability, security and operational excellence
