We seek a Staff Software Engineer to define frontend direction for Payments Core, Merchant, or Consumer, ensuring architecture clarity and clear trade-offs across teams. You will own fundamental technology decisions, mentor staff-track engineers, and partner with product strategy within a data-driven,

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with leadership/architecture experience.

Responsibilities

• Define frontend architecture across the area: components, design-system boundaries, micro-frontend patterns, state management, and performance budgets.
• Write ADRs and RFCs for frontend decisions to document reasoning and trade-offs.
• Evaluate frontend tech choices: framework/library, build tooling, rendering strategies, accessibility at scale.
• Develop and evolve agentic frontend development harness with instrumentation and data-driven improvements.
• Drive cross-team technical change by identifying patterns and components to adopt or deprecate.
• Provide input into product strategy and mentor staff-track engineers through design reviews and reviews of technical writings.
