Job summary

UPM is seeking a Specialist, Sourcing Operations to join our team in Wroclaw. You will lead end-to-end direct materials sourcing projects, leverage RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and e-auctions, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to deliver value and sustainable results.

You will negotiate contracts, monitor supplier performance, and drive digital sourcing initiatives. Strong English and German language skills, plus experience with SAP Ariba, are required to thrive in our multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in procurement, business, or a related field.
• Strong interest in technology, AI, digitalization, and innovation.
• Fluent in English; German is required.
• Experience with SAP Ariba and other digital sourcing and procurement tools.
• Customer-focused and service-oriented with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate in multicultural, cross-functional environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing projects focusing on direct materials (chemicals) using RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and e-auctions.
• Follow sourcing strategies that deliver business value and cost optimization.
• Negotiate and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle with compliance and risk mitigation.
• Act as a trusted sourcing advisor to influence stakeholders and support strategic decisions.
• Drive change by implementing new ways of working and digital procurement tools.
• Monitor supplier performance and foster strong supplier relationships for continuous improvement.
• Promote procurement best practices, compliance, and risk management across activities.
• Ensure an efficient Source-to-Contract process and operational excellence.
