Job summary

Alstom in Katowice is looking for a full-time Program V&V Designer to drive verification and validation across embedded systems in a railway environment.

You will define verification strategies, develop test plans, perform verification and report results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and quality. English proficiency required and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset is essential to succeed in a fast-paced setting.

• Experience with software coding.
• Knowledge of at least one Alstom platform and multiple platforms preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Define verification methodology for deliverables as requested in the V&V strategy.
• Define test plans and test descriptions for in-house activities.
• Perform and report allocated verification, integration and test activities.
• Interface with experts in other departments to align on V&V activity methodology.
• Represent Alstom in front of customers or partners to provide progress updates on tests.
• Specify, procure, develop, setup and configure assets such as testbenches and instrumentation.
• Provide data to maintain applicable KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement.

You'll play a key role in driving operational excellence and fostering a safe, collaborative work environment. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business.

We’ll look to you for:

• Contribute to the definition of the Program Verification and Validation strategy in the V&V Plan, and act proactively for its implementation;
• Define verification methodology for selected deliverables, when requested in V&V strategy;
• Define test plans and test descriptions for in-house activities.
• Perform and report allocated verification, integration and test activities;
• When Safety is involved, share and justify the results with Safety Assurance Manager to feed the safety demonstration.
• Interface with experts in other department to align on selected V&V activity methodology;
• Represent Alstom in front of customers or partners, for instance to provide overview of test progress, issues, risks and opportunities;
• Specify, procure, develop, setup and configure assets such as testbenches and instrumentation;
• Provide data to maintain applicable KPIs;
• Provide valuable feedback for REX sessions and continuous improvement;
• Manage configuration and change management cycle related with V&V activities (simulation configuration, anomaly tracking etc.);
• In Projects, follow-up with T&C for tests exported to site execution.
  

All about you:

• Good analytical skill is required.
• Understanding and experience in Software coding.
• Knowledge of at least one Alstom platform
• Knowledge of more than one Alstom platform.
• Product and system background.
• At least 2 years in relevant positions (systems / sub-systems integration, embedded equipment, electrotechnical product development) in a highly complex and normative environment (railway signalling, aerospace, defense, nuclear) would be a major asset.
