Job summary

Google LLC in Poland is seeking a software engineer to help build next-generation technologies at scale. You will write product and system development code and participate in design reviews to decide among technologies.

The role involves designing, testing, deploying, maintaining software, contributing to documentation and triaging issues impacting hardware, network, or service quality. A Bachelor’s degree and programming experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages (or 1 year with advanced degree).

• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications

• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Coding skills in any modern programming language like Golang, Java, C++.
• General knowledge of networking technologies such as Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Transport Layer Security/Secure Sockets Layer (TLS/SSL).
