Job summary

BEIT in Kraków is seeking a versatile software engineer to convert scientific ideas into reliable, high-performance software. You will work with an interdisciplinary research team to develop backend features in Python or Rust and prototype ideas through scripting, data collection, metrics, visualization, and analysis.

You will design and run system, integration, and performance tests, profile code, and optimize performance.

• Experience building backend features in Python or Rust.

• Develop backend features and services in Python and/or Rust, depending on the project.
• Prototype and validate early ideas through scripting, data collection, metrics, visualisation, and analysis.
• Design and implement system, integration, and performance tests; profile software and improve its performance.
• Collaborate closely with drug-design experts, physicists, chemists, mathematicians, and computer scientists to translate scientific requirements into practical software solutions.
• Use AI coding agents and agentic AI tools to accelerate software development, explore solutions, automate coding tasks, and improve development workflows.
