Job summary

BEIT in Kraków is seeking a versatile software engineer to convert scientific ideas into reliable, high-performance software. You will work with an interdisciplinary research team to develop backend features in Python or Rust and prototype ideas through scripting, data collection, metrics, visualization, and analysis.

You will design and run system, integration, and performance tests, profile code, and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend features in Python or Rust.
• Ability to prototype and validate ideas through scripting, data collection, metrics, visualization, and analysis.
• Experience designing and implementing system, integration, and performance tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend features and services in Python and/or Rust.
• Prototype and validate early ideas through scripting, data collection, metrics, visualization and analysis.
• Design and implement system, integration, and performance tests; profile software and improve performance.
• Collaborate with drug-design experts, physicists, chemists, mathematicians, and computer scientists to translate scientific requirements into software solutions.
• Leverage AI coding agents and AI tools to accelerate development and improve workflows.
