Job summary

Bayer in Poland invites a Senior Software Engineer to join the Digital Hub Warsaw. You will design, develop, and deploy full-stack solutions in a regulated Pharma R&D environment, shaping a technical vision and mentoring engineers.

You'll collaborate with IT and R&D experts, drive architectural decisions, and leverage cloud, containerization, and AI-assisted development tools to deliver robust software that adds business value. The role offers hybrid work and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of professional software development experience with expert-level skills in multiple languages.
• Experience with backend and/or frontend frameworks (React.js).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containerization, and serverless architecture.
• Hands-on data engineering and/or data science experience.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Ability to lead engineering initiatives and develop others.
• Experience working with natural scientists in regulated environments (GxP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Introduce new technologies, improve engineering workflows, and challenge existing patterns.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Combine technical expertise with scientific understanding (e.g., computational biology or computational chemistry).

The minimum monthly gross compensation for this role is 20 240 PLN gross with final pay determined based on objective factors such as experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility, and internal alignment.

Who You Are

• Excellent university degree in Computer Science (or equivalent natural science degree, e.g., computational biologist/chemist/…).
• 5–8+ years of professional experience with expert‑level skills in at least two modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Kotlin, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Experience with backend development and/or frontend frameworks such as React.js.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containerization, and serverless architecture.
• Hands‑on expertise in data engineering and/or data science.
• Deep understanding of Agile, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Comfortable making technical decisions in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Proven experience leading engineering initiatives and developing others.
• As a plus: experience working with natural scientists and in regulated environments (e.g., GxP)
