Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–5 years of commercial backend development experience.
• Proven experience as a Software Architect.
• Experience designing distributed, cloud-based or scalable backend systems.
• Strong Python skills with FastAPI, Django or Flask.
• Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL data stores (MySQL, Redis).
• Solid MQTT knowledge and broker configuration.
• Experience with Docker, Git, and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Excellent communication and ability to work with stakeholders.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect with Python to help grow and improve product platform. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can design solid backend systems, solve difficult connectivity issues and make good technical decisions.

You will have opportunity to build connected devices, communication tools and AI‑based solutions that are already used in hundreds of stores across Europe. You will work on a product that connects hardware, software, data and everyday business operations. The company is moved from the startup phase to larger international deployments.

You will help build and improve the backend platform used by mobile apps, smartwatches and tablets. Your work will include writing reliable code, improving how services communicate, supporting integrations and helping the platform scale. You will be part of the team based in Wrocław, which is working from the office 2 or 3 days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and improve the backend for a system that connects different devices.
• Build fast and reliable Python services, APIs and microservices.
• Improve how devices and services connect and exchange data; maintain communication tools and solve issues such as slow response times, unstable connections and TCP disconnects.
• Build and maintain integrations between the main platform and customer systems, for example systems used by car service centres or retail chains.
• Work with MQTT communication, including QoS settings, retained messages and message‑broker configuration.
• Write clean, easy‑to‑maintain code; take part in code reviews and create automated tests.
• Work closely with the Product Owner, Product Designer and Android Developers.
• Help make important technical decisions, balancing business needs, system stability, future growth and delivery speed.
• Support junior engineers through mentoring and day‑to‑day technical help.
• At least 4-5 years of commercial experience in backend software development.
• Experience as Software Architect
• Proven experience designing distributed systems, cloud‑based systems or scalable backend architectures.
• Strong proficiency in Python and practical experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask or comparable frameworks.
• Strong understanding of relational and non‑relational data stores, particularly MySQL and Redis.
• Very good knowledge of MQTT, including QoS levels, retained messages and configuring brokers such as Mosquitto, HiveMQ or EMQX. MQTT QoS determines delivery guarantees, while retained messages enable newly connected clients to receive the latest known value for a topic—both are central considerations for connected‑device communication.
• Solid knowledge of network engineering, including TCP/IP, routing, load balancing and diagnosing network communication problems.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining APIs and microservices.
• Practical experience with Docker, Git and cloud environments such as GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including automated testing, maintainable code, documentation and peer review.
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical topics and translate business needs into viable architecture and implementation decisions.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• English proficiency at minimum B2 level, sufficient for confident day‑to‑day communication.
• Openness to hybrid work from the office (2-3 days per week) - it is important because the whole team is based in Wrocław

Conditions

• Work model: hybrid in Wrocław (2-3 days per week)
• Employment type: B2B or Contract of employment - it is up to you! You will be hired directly by customer, it is not outsourcing model.
• Salary: for B2B: 25 000 - 35 000 net/month, for Contract of employment: 20 000 - 29 000 PLN gross/month
