Job summary

Sungrow Europe is seeking a dynamic Shift Manager to lead a 60-person assembly team in a fast-growing greenfield facility in Poland. You will drive line efficiency, ensure quality and EHS compliance, and support rapid ramp-up during scaling.

Based on lean principles, you will champion 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement while coordinating with MES/ERP systems and cross-functional teams. The role requires strong leadership, adaptability, and structured problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • High Agility & Change Mindset: thrive in dynamic greenfield environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher (effective communication in an international environment).
  • Willingness to work in shifts (initially 1st shift, transitioning to a 3-shift pattern as production scales).
  • Strong fast-paced decision-making and troubleshooting capabilities under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for managing a large team (~60 staff).
  • Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Problem Solving / 5Why, Kanban).
  • SEP Certifications (G1) >1kV in Operation (E) and Supervision (D) category — highly desirable / nice to have.
  • Basic proficiency with MES / ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Lead and direct a shift team of approximately 60 assembly operators; foster motivation and a positive culture in a brand-new facility.
  • Adaptation & Ramp-up Support: Actively participate in introducing new processes and production lines; guide the team through frequent changes during scaling.
  • Line Tact & Flow Maintenance: Monitor production takt time, achieve daily volume targets, and respond to downtime risks.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Identify and rapidly resolve bottlenecks and process issues directly on the line.
  • Quality & Safety Focus: Enforce adherence to quality specs, assembly instructions, and EHS/ergonomic standards.
  • Training & Onboarding: Onboard new team members, conduct job-specific training (electrical assembly standards), build skill matrices.
  • Shift Organization: Task allocation, station staffing, attendance tracking, and timekeeping management.
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Participate in shift handovers, track KPIs, execute passdowns, propose process optimizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Lead and direct a shift team of approximately 60 assembly operators; foster motivation and a positive culture in a brand-new facility.
  • Adaptation & Ramp-up Support: Actively participate in introducing new processes and production lines; flexibly guide the team through frequent changes during the production scaling phase until full organizational maturity is achieved.
