Job summary

Sopra Steria Polska is seeking an experienced Senior Windows Engineer to join a team serving a Norwegian client. The role requires working in the Silesian region with regular visits to Katowice office.

You will design, implement, and maintain Windows Server environments, manage AD/DNS/DHCP/GPO, and drive automation while aligning with ITIL processes. Familiarity with on-prem and hybrid setups, plus strong security practices, is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in planning, deploying, and maintaining Windows Server environments in enterprise-scale infrastructures.
• Proven experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Hands-on patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with on-prem and hybrid infrastructure, including virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V).
• Solid security practices, system hardening, and compliance expertise.
• Automation using PowerShell (DSC or IaC tools preferred) and ITIL process familiarity.

The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Windows Engineerto join Sopra Steria Polska fora team that cooperates with one of our Norwegian clients.

Note that we can only offer cooperation to peoplearelocatedin Silesian area and are willing to commute to our office in Katowice.
Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain Windows Server environments following best practices, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
• Administer and troubleshoot core Windows services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO), resolving complex issues through root cause analysis.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support within ITIL processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
• Execute patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management while maintaining system stability and compliance.
• Monitor, optimize, and secure infrastructure using enterprise tools, ensuring performance, capacity planning, and adherence to security standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and automate operational tasks using scripting and IaC tools to improve efficiency and reliability.

Tech stack on the project:

• Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)

• Backup solutions: Commvault, Windows Server Backup

Qualifications

Must have requirements:

• Strong expertise in planning, deploying, and maintaining Windows Server environments in enterprise-scale infrastructures
• Proven experience in troubleshooting advanced issues related to Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
• Hands‑on experience with patching, upgrades, migrations, and system lifecycle management
• Experience with on-prem and hybrid infrastructure, including virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V)
• Solid understanding of security best practices, system hardening, and compliance
• Practical experience with automation using PowerShell (and preferably DSC or IaC tools)
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management)
• Certifications:
  • MicrosoftCertified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
  • MicrosoftCertified: Identity and Access Administrator (Active Directory / AAD)
  • ITIL® 4 Foundation
• Structured and disciplined approach to operations and documentation.

• Zabbix and ServiceNow experience.
