Job summary

OPTIVEUM is recruiting a Senior Test Manager / QA Lead to drive QA strategy within an Agile Release Train, coordinating 4–6 Scrum teams across Poland and Nordic partner teams. The role demands strong leadership, test automation, and deep functional/non-functional testing capabilities.

You will work in a hybrid model (3 days in the office) with a focus on integration and E2E testing, test data management, and stakeholder reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in a quality assurance leadership role with coaching teams.
• Strong financial domain knowledge, preferably mortgage-related.
• Documented experience leading QA across the project lifecycle, including test automation.
• Extensive experience with test management, functional/non-functional, E2E testing, and data management.
• Ability to report dashboards and raise risks to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA strategy within the ART across 4–6 Scrum teams, focusing on integration and E2E testing.
• Plan, execute, and govern functional and non-functional testing in a SAFe setup.
• Ensure testing coverage and reporting per internal processes.
• Drive test automation, environments, data management, and KPI improvements.
• Coach ART leadership and team members to deliver high-quality agile releases.
• Communicate test status and risks to IT and business stakeholders; align priorities.
• Assess release readiness and align test schedules with deployment plans.

Senior Test Manager / QA Lead

Location: Warsaw, Gdańsk, or Gdynia, Poland

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days per week from the office)

Rate: 125 PLN/h (B2B)

About the Project

We are recruiting on behalf of our client—a prominent organization operating within the Nordic financial sector. You will be joining a large-scale, highly international project focused on the "Home journey," the complete process a customer goes through when buying a home in the Nordics.

In this role, you will lead the QA efforts within an Agile Release Train (ART) in a diverse environment, collaborating with team members located in Poland, the Nordic countries, and India.

Please note: We are recruiting for this position in cooperation with Ework, but Optiveum is the company that signs the contract and will be your direct contracting party.

Responsibilities

• Leading QA Efforts: Drive the QA strategy within the ART (across 4–6 Scrum teams), focusing heavily on integration and End-to-End (E2E) testing.

• Test Management: Plan, run, and manage functional and non-functional testing in a SAFe Agile release train setup.

• Process Compliance: Ensure all required types and levels of testing are planned, executed, and reported according to internal processes.

• Continuous Improvement: Drive best practices, secure test enablers (environments, data management), and actively increase test automation KPIs and coverage.

• Leadership & Coaching: Act as a sparring partner to ART leadership, address testing skill gaps, and coach team members to ensure excellent, agile deliveries.

• Stakeholder Communication: Proactively report test status, quality metrics, and risks to key IT and business stakeholders, aligning priorities across Product Management, Architects, Release Management, and Scrum Teams.

• Release Readiness: Assess release readiness, secure test evidence before going live, and align test scheduling with deployment plans.

Requirements

Must-haves:

• 5+ years of professional experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role, with a proven track record of coaching and developing teams.

• Strong financial domain knowledge, preferably within the Mortgage area.

• Documented experience leading QA during the entire project lifecycle, preferably in a test automation environment.

• Vast experience with test management tools, functional/non-functional testing, E2E testing, test automation, and test data management.

• Expertise in planning and following up on system tests, integration tests, and UAT, including reporting via dashboards and presentations.

• Excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of legacy systems.

• Familiarity with the project's tech stack: Java, Kafka, C#, Weblogic, SQL, mainframe (Cobol, ASP).

• Familiarity with the QA stack: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, qTest, PowerBI, Jira.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience managing tests in a mainframe environment (highly advantageous).

• Professional experience with web/API testing, DevOps, and automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of Spark, Scala, and SAFe methodology.

• Experience with AI in Test Automation.
