Job summary

Ports North is seeking a Technical Lead (Contract) to guide a small engineering team in building an AI RegTech platform. You will own code reviews, set technical direction, and ensure delivery at pace.

You will lead Node.js and Python work across back-end and front-end, manage AWS foundations and LLM integrations, and collaborate with the founder and Product Owner to deliver governance-by-design software.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small engineering team.
• Strong AWS security and multi-tenant design.
• Experience with LLM integration and enterprise APIs.

Responsibilities

• Own code review for pull requests (Node.js and Python).
• Lead a small team hands-on: design the system and ship correct work quickly.
• Ensure understanding root cause before coding, and discuss approach first.
• Own the AWS foundations (RDS/S3 encryption at rest, tenancy isolation, Cognito).
• Safeguard explainability, tenant isolation and audit-trail integrity.
• Raise the team’s understanding of the system and data model; improve delivery speed.
