Job summary

People More is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to design and evolve backend architecture for a scalable product. You will develop backend services with Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS, driving architectural decisions and enabling AI/LLM-powered integrations across the platform.

You will lead events-driven systems, ensure security and reliability, and collaborate with product, frontend and AI teams while contributing to documentation and best practices.

Qualifications

• >=7 years of backend development experience.
• >Strong production experience with Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS.
• >Solid PostgreSQL knowledge including optimization, indexes, transactions, and raw SQL when needed.
• >Experience building event-driven and asynchronous systems.
• >Strong understanding of application security (OAuth 2.0, RBAC/ABAC, OWASP, audit logs, secrets management).
• >Experience designing multitenant architectures and data isolation.
• >Ability to document architectural decisions (ADRs).
• >Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve backend architecture for a scalable product.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS.
• Drive technical and architectural decisions across the platform.
• Build event-driven systems and asynchronous processing workflows.
• Ensure security, reliability, observability, and maintainability of services.
• Support integrations with AI/LLM-powered solutions.
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering work.
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and AI engineering teams.
• Contribute to engineering best practices and technical documentation.
