Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Cinematic Animator to join as an Open World Creature Animator on a 2-year fixed-term contract. You will craft animations for NPCs, animals, and environmental interactions to enrich dynamic gameplay and storytelling.

You’ll work with Open World, Gameplay, Narrative, and Technical Animation teams to deliver systemic, responsive animations. Fluent English and strong motion capture/keyframe skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in animation for games or real-time applications.
• Strong reel showing ambient behaviors, creature locomotion, and NPC routines.

Responsibilities

• Assemble final, high-quality animation assets for creature routines, behaviors, environmental interactions and systemic events using motion capture and keyframe techniques.
• Own animation content for a specific creature, collaborating in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver immersive open-world experiences.
• Ensure animations align with artistic and narrative direction, beyond traditional cinematics.
• Collaborate daily with Cinematic Animation Lead and other departments to serve gameplay and worldbuilding goals.
• Estimate task duration and deliver on schedule with attention to implementation details and requirements.
• Prototype and iterate animations quickly to test ideas and enable systemic interactions.
• Provide creative and technical solutions to systemic animation challenges.
• Share knowledge and mentor less experienced animators.
