Corning Incorporated is seeking a Systems Engineer to partner with customers and ecosystems to translate challenges into system-level solutions for the Co-Packaged Optics portfolio. This role requires strong technical credibility and customer-facing interaction.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or related field.
• 7+ years in applications, systems, or product development with customer-facing roles.
• Experience in mechanical design engineering for optical management systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments.
• Knowledge of optical fiber, connectivity, semiconductors, or data center networks.
• Ability to translate complex requirements for internal/external Stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical contact for strategic customers through lifecycle.
• Lead product and system ideation with customers and partners.
• Translate customer requirements into internal specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies and initial design concepts for transfer to R&D.
• Build trusted relationships across the CPO ecosystem.
• Understand customer applications and Corning solutions in environments.
• Lead deep-dive sessions, architecture workshops, design reviews with customer teams.
• Collaborate with ASIC partners, packaging houses, laser vendors, connectors.
• Represent customer voice to drive requirements and prioritization.
