Zusammenfassung

VEDA is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead a portfolio of bridges and infrastructure projects in Poland, with strong technical leadership and commercial responsibility. The role combines project delivery, people development and office management across Kraków, in collaboration with our UK team.

You will guide design approaches, review technical work, mentor engineers and help grow the Poland operation while maintaining high engineering standards and client relationships.

Qualifikationen

• A degree in civil or structural engineering and substantial relevant experience at a senior level.
• Strong understanding of structural behaviour, load paths and design from first principles.
• Experience designing steel and reinforced concrete structures to Eurocodes.
• Proven record managing a portfolio of projects with budgets and delivery commitments.
• Commercial awareness and experience preparing fees and monitoring project financial performance.
• Experience managing and developing teams and supporting engineers in leadership roles.
• Ability to remain technically involved while delegating and overseeing delivery.
• Confident in working with clients and supporting business growth decisions.
• Chartered status with ICE or IStructE is a requirement.
• Experience in bridges or UK rail projects is welcome but not essential.

Aufgaben

• Manage the Kraków office by translating business priorities into resource plans and objectives.
• Oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring technical quality, programme, resources and commercial performance.
• Coordinate workload across the team and anticipate future resource needs.
• Oversee Project Leads, provide direction, and resolve delivery issues.
• Lead projects from scope definition through detailed design and construction support.
• Monitor budgets, profitability and forecast costs to completion.
• Manage changes in scope and fees, and ensure alignment with programmes.
• Provide technical leadership and review calculations, reports and drawings.
• Develop engineers through mentoring and clear delegation.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of new colleagues as the team grows.
• Build and maintain client relationships and identify opportunities for VEDA in Poland.
• Maintain consistent engineering and quality standards across projects and coordinate with UK offices.
