Job summary

Altimi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Windows Audio to join a project for an EU-based company in embedded audio systems. You will design and implement Audio Processing Objects, build virtual microphones and drivers, and ensure compatibility with WASAPI, WDK, PortCls/ACX while running AI models securely on PCs.

Senior Software Engineer – Windows Audio

Role Overview

We are looking for a Windows audio stack specialist to join a project for an EU-based company in embedded audio systems and speech processing. The work covers developing audio drivers and components and running AI models securely on PCs.
Occasional business trips of 3–5 days may be required, especially at the start of the project.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing APOs (Audio Processing Objects)

• Working with WASAPI, WDK, and PortCls/ACX

Requirements

• Extensive experience with the Windows audio stack
• Experience developing audio drivers (WDK, PortCls and/or ACX)

• Proficiency in C/C++
• Experience with real-time DSP
• Willingness to travel occasionally (3–5 days)

Nice to have

• Experience with ONNX Runtime, DirectML, or QNN
• Knowledge of secure ML model deployment on end-user devices
