Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH in Kraków seeks a Senior Software Engineer for our Server Team to design, qualify, and scale cloud server platforms. You will help integrate host and DPU architectures, validate RoCE, and drive platform offload and acceleration from concept to production.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience in hardware/software co-design, strong Linux and networking knowledge, and hands-on scripting in Python or Bash. This role offers hybrid work with three on-site days weekly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with server and networking hardware including DPUs and integration into x86/ARM systems.
• Familiar with PCIe, SR-IOV, virtualization, and Linux.
• Strong understanding of L2/L3/L4 networking and data center technologies (VXLAN, BGP, RDMA, congestion control, ECMP).
• Expertise in hardware and platform validation, tests, and automation via Python or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Support DPU hardware and software integration into Akamai compute and GPU server platforms (PCIe, networking, storage, manageability).
• Execute validation plans for DPU platforms (functional, performance, interoperability, stress, reliability).
• Implement and maintain automation, scripts, and test tooling to exercise DPUs and collect telemetry at scale.
• Implement and validate networking/offload features (RDMA/RoCE, L2/L3/L4, SR-IOV/virtio-net/vDPA, overlays, congestion control).
• Collaborate with Kernel, NetEng, SDN, Storage, Security, Cloud teams to align workloads and SLOs.
• Work with vendors to reproduce issues, capture traces, validate firmware/updates.
