Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer in Krakow to design, validate, and document server hardware platforms for a global network. You will collaborate with vendors to evaluate pre-release hardware and guide product designs for scale, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities include architecture reviews, multi-vendor management, and post-deployment analysis to feed back into design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience across the full hardware development lifecycle, including pre-production sample evaluation and mass-production validation.
• Expertise with server hardware components (Disk, RAM, NIC, GPU) and their protocols.
• Experience operating lab equipment and conducting diagnostic/ investigative analysis.
• Three+ years of Python programming for embedded software development.

Responsibilities

• Define and review architecture for next-generation platforms.
• Lead design reviews across electrical, mechanical, and firmware domains.
• Negotiate requirements and trade-offs with product and business teams.
• Anticipate system-level challenges (thermal, signal integrity, compliance) and propose solutions.
• Oversee multi-vendor engagements and align with roadmap goals.
• Manage hardware failure escalations and coordinate resolutions with OEM/ODM suppliers.
• Drive post-deployment analysis and feedback loops into design.
