Job summary

VirtusLab is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on Data Quality in a remote role. You will own the data quality lifecycle, identify issues, and design offline solutions that avoid impacting production performance.

You’ll work with Kotlin/Java in a Spring Boot stack and collaborate with a US team, applying a proactive, ownership-driven approach. The role blends data engineering, analytics, and automation to improve data stability across a large data ecosystem, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and genuine curiosity about data.
• Experience with JVM backend (Kotlin/Java) and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on data quality/observability mindset.
• Fluent English and ability to work with US team.
• Willingness to take ownership in a partly undefined backlog.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and eliminate data quality issues at scale.
• Build remediation tooling and checks beyond queries.
• Drive offline data quality improvements without impacting production.
• Own backlog, scope vague tickets, deliver and propose next steps.
