Google's Senior Software Engineer for Cluster Management is located in Warsaw, Poland. You will develop the on-machine agent for Google’s cluster management system, enabling efficient, scalable workloads while focusing on security and reliability across global data centers.

As part of a team of 2–3 engineers, you will lead design and execution on multiple infrastructure projects, typically 6–12 months each, collaborating across hardware and software disciplines to push Google Cloud capabilities

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

As a part of the team, you will run a group of small 2-3 person teams executing on various projects in all major areas of infrastructure, as each team is run independently and given a large amount of freedom, while still counting on the support of the rest of the team when necessary. Your projects typically last from 6-12 months meaning you're not locked into one area for too long. • Demonstrate an understanding of guest (virtualized) and host (hypervisor) environments and come up with secure solutions that connect both.
• Work with peers to identify, design, create and optimize software features that run on top of Google's hardware stack.
• Lead design and build processes for infrastructure to automatically measure and detect regressions in key performance metrics at scale.
• Advocate for your ideas to others when cooperation and coordination is required.
