Job summary

SentinelOne is seeking a Senior Software Architect to drive the transformation of a core system into a scalable cloud-native microservices architecture. The role focuses on modernizing a Python legacy with Java-based services, Go as secondary, and coordinating across engineering and product teams.

You'll work across Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP, and CI/CD tools, mentoring engineers and shaping an architecture that supports multi-tenant SaaS at global scale.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience architecting large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven track record migrating from monolithic to cloud-native microservices.
• Proficiency in Java (primary) and Go; Python is a plus.
• Experience with Kubernetes and multi-cloud deployments (AWS/GCP).
• Strong technical communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Dive deep into our current monolithic architecture, identify pain points, and design innovative solutions in an iterative way.
• Lead the design and development of a new microservices architecture that supports scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with departments and teams to evaluate and implement the right tools, frameworks, and methodologies for building a robust microservices ecosystem.
• Readiness to “get your hands dirty” by developing POCs and prototypes, performing code reviews and contributing to high-quality, production-ready code (primarily in Java).
• Guide and mentor other engineers, contribute to their professional growth, share best practices and architectural insights, and foster a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
• Partner with other engineering organizations and teams across the globe, with product, design, quality, DevOps/Infra teams and leadership to align on objectives, design, timelines, and execution strategies.
• Our Platform stack: Java (primary; Spring (Boot) ecosystem), Go (secondary), and Python (legacy); Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, FedRAMP; GitHub Actions, ArgoCD; GitHub Enterprise; depending on requirements of the service for communication we use Kafka, REST API, GraphQL, gRPC etc.; Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, ClickHouse; Prometheus/Thanos, Grafana; Claude Code, AI gateway, and other relevant agentic engineering tooling
