Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a highly experienced Principal Silicon Systems Engineer to lead DSP, embedded software, and hardware accelerators across our communications silicon. You will drive HW/SW partitioning, interfaces, and pre-silicon plans with multiple teams.

The role emphasizes performance modeling, real-time DSP mapping, silicon bring-up, and mentoring engineers. A strong SoC architecture, RTL/verification, and pre-silicon development background are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in electrical/computer engineering, CS or closely related field.
• 12+ years hands-on ASIC/SoC, embedded systems, DSP experience.
• Deep HW/SW co-design across complex SoCs.
• Strong understanding of SoC architecture, processors, accelerators, memory, interconnects.
• Strong DSP understanding and mapping to programmable processors and accelerators.
• Experience modeling processor performance, throughput, latency, memory bandwidth.
• Embedded software/firmware interacting with custom silicon.
• Experience with RTL, verification, ASIC implementation.
• Pre-silicon development with simulation, FPGA prototyping, emulation.
• System integration across processor, software, RTL, accelerators.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical plan across DSP, firmware, processors, and accelerators for custom silicon.
• Guide HW/SW partitioning based on performance, latency, power, and memory.
• Translate requirements into clear workstreams, interfaces, and plans.
• Provide technical leadership during silicon bring-up and integration.
• Mentor engineers and conduct technical reviews across disciplines.
