Job summary
AgileEngine is seeking a Shopify-focused engineer to architect, develop, and maintain high-performance eCommerce solutions. You will join a remote-first team of senior engineers and contribute to code quality, platform architecture, and strategic roadmap decisions for Shopify Plus projects.
The role emphasizes understanding the why behind the platform, strong problem-solving, and collaboration with Product and Security teams.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional Shopify development experience.
- Deep knowledge of Shopify Plus and its unique features.
- SDLC understanding and modern development methodologies.
- Experience with page performance optimization, front-end caching, CDNs, and secure development practices.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve site issues using tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-first mindset, patience and empathy.
- Analytical problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Jira.
- Upper-intermediate English level.
Responsibilities
- Develop key system components and optimize delivery times.
- Perform deep code analysis, patches, and new platform features.
- Research platform capabilities for the eCommerce roadmap.
- Collaborate with Product Management on design and innovations.
- Provide first-level Shopify technical support and incident postmortems.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and validation.
- Ensure security and performance best practices across the team.
- Assist Project Management with effort estimates and planning.
- Identify and remove technical roadblocks.
