EPAM Systems in Poland is seeking a Senior Ruby Developer to join a dynamic, collaborative team. You will build scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails, optimize PostgreSQL queries, and apply TDD/BDD with RSpec.

The role is hybrid with office visits across Wroclaw, Krakow, Gdansk, Warsaw, Katowice, Lodz or Poznan, and offers opportunities to work remotely within Poland, plus international exposure and relocation options.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Ruby and Rails experience.
• Proven ability to build scalable web apps.
• Deep PostgreSQL expertise, including query optimization and direct SQL usage.
• Solid RSpec and TDD/BDD testing experience.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• English level at least B2 for effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable web apps using Ruby on Rails.
• Optimize complex PostgreSQL queries and ensure efficiency.
• Write clean, maintainable code with TDD/BDD using RSpec.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align tech with business goals.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to uphold quality.
• Address scalability and performance issues and implement improvements.
• Translate requirements into technical designs with product owners.
• Debug production issues and implement swift fixes.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and long-term system improvements.
• Oversee deployment processes and ensure production stability.
