Job summary

Cleo in Poland is hiring Senior Backend Engineers to join one of our cross-functional product squads—working closely with engineers, designers, analysts, and product partners to build features that improve our users' financial health.

Our stack spans a Ruby on Rails monolith, a React Native frontend, Python for machine learning, and AWS with Kubernetes. You will shape direction, evolve APIs, and mentor teammates to raise the bar on quality and impact.

Qualifications

• Experienced engineer with solid fundamentals and commercial Ruby experience.
• Track record of writing maintainable, thoughtful code and making sound technical decisions.
• Strong collaboration with product, design, and data partners.

Responsibilities

• Shape the direction of upcoming work from discovery through shipped impact.
• Build and evolve APIs, data models, and business logic; strong fundamentals required.
• Contribute to testing, observability, and experimentation to raise developer experience and product quality.
• Drive high-impact initiatives such as new features and pricing experiments.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of growth and ownership.
