Job summary

Hitachi Energy Services SP. z o.o. in Krakow seeks an experienced R&D Software Developer specializing in high-performance C++ applications for real-time grid automation. You will build secure software with C++17/20, targeting long product lifecycles and cross-platform deployment.

You will collaborate with global teams, optimize latency, and contribute to architecture reviews while adhering to SOLID, KISS and industry best practices, in an agile environment. English fluency required.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20) with RAII, smart pointers, STL, concurrency and memory management.
• 8+ years of experience in senior technical roles.
• Cross-platform development experience on Windows and Linux (build systems: CMake, Visual Studio).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices.
• Knowledge of power grid/industrial automation domains is a plus.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time, high-performance C++ cores with minimal latency.
• Profile threading behavior, optimize synchronization and memory use.
• Participate in system design, architecture reviews, and roadmaps.
• Ensure cross-platform compatibility and secure software supply chain practices.
• Maintain code quality via reviews, unit tests, and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders in agile teams.
