Hitachi Energy Services SP. Z O.O. in Krakow is seeking a Principal Embedded C/C++ Engineer to design, develop, and optimize software for embedded systems with constrained resources.

You will work with hardware teams on real-time constraints and system integration. The ideal candidate has over 10 years in embedded software, hands-on C/C++, OpenWRT, RTOS-based platforms, and strong debugging across hardware and software layers.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of professional embedded software experience.
• Experience with OpenWRT and real-time systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Strong debugging skills across hardware and software layers.
• Knowledge of build systems and toolchains.
• Ownership mentality and focus on quality and reliability.
• Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded software using modern C/C++.
• Develop firmware for microcontrollers, embedded Linux systems, or RTOS platforms.
• Perform debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD tools, and software debuggers.
• Write robust, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Integrate with real-time operating systems or bare-metal environments.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand schematics, interfaces, and constraints.
