Hitachi Energy in Kraków is seeking an experienced R&D Software Developer focused on C++ application development to join our technology organization. You will design and deliver high-performance, real-time software systems using modern C++ (C++17/20) with a focus on reliability, security, and long product lifecycle support.

You will collaborate with global technology teams to shape innovative solutions for power systems, contributing to architecture, build tooling, and cross‑platform deployment

Qualifications

• Advanced in modern C++ (C++17/20) with RAII, smart pointers, STL, concurrency, and memory management.
• Experience with Rust is a plus.
• Strong multithreading, synchronization primitives, asynchronous I/O and real-time system design.
• Proficiency with building systems (CMake, Visual Studio) and cross-platform development (Windows & Linux).
• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices patterns.
• Proven ability to translate customer requirements into clear technical designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time, high-performance C++ software with low latency.
• Profile and optimize performance: threading, lock contention, memory allocations.
• Write clean, testable code with SOLID/KISS/DRY principles and unit testing.
• Collaborate with global teams on architecture, roadmaps, and feature development.
• Ensure cross-platform support across Linux and Windows; modernize build systems.
