Job summary

AgileEngine in Poland seeks a Python Developer to build an event-driven integration platform with APIs, resilience, and AI-facing integrations. You will design durable, scalable services and use OpenAPI/AsyncAPI contracts in a distributed environment.

You will contribute to testing, CI/CD, and operate with GenAI tools, while collaborating with global teams to deliver robust ITSM-related solutions.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of production experience with Python, with typed, tested, and packaged services and APIs.
• Strong grasp of event-driven and asynchronous architecture: messaging, durable logs, retries, idempotency.
• REST API design and OpenAPI experience; willing to work with AsyncAPI contracts.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or equivalent streaming platform.
• GenAI-assisted development; comfortable with AI coding agents in daily workflow.
• Testing discipline (pytest, contract testing), CI/CD pipelines, Linux, Git and containers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain trade-offs in architecture.
• Desire to continuously learn and evaluate new tools.

Responsibilities

• Build a Python service handling observation/intent/outcome events and an event log.
• Design and maintain interfaces with OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Create a correlation layer to turn signals into ITSM actions, applied exactly once.
• Develop resilience mechanisms to keep service usable during upstream outages.
• Support multiple access patterns: fire-and-forget, poll, webhooks, streaming.
• Develop event type registry and self-service onboarding for teams.
• Build GenAI-facing surfaces: agent skills and tool-calling interfaces.
• Migrate legacy integrations via deprecation paths without disrupting users.
• Own quality end-to-end: reviews, testing, observability, production support.
• Participate in ceremonies and customer meetings; document decisions as architecture decisions.
• Autonomously own components or projects with a technical architect.
