Jit Team in Poland is seeking a software engineer to design and implement AI-powered workflows for modernising legacy code. You will develop tooling for automated analysis, migration and refactoring, primarily in Python, while ensuring clean code and scalable CI/CD integration.
You will work with Docker, Kubernetes and LLMs, collaborating with enterprise teams across Europe. A hybrid work model from Gdynia/Gdańsk/Warszawa is available, with training opportunities financed by Jit.
Work model: hybrid from Gdynia / Gdańsk / Warszawa (2/3 days per week from the office)
You will be involved in a financial project focused on modernising legacy applications through AI-driven code migration and automation. The project aims to analyse existing codebases and transform them into modern, platform-approved technology stacks using agentic AI workflows, while integrating the process with CI/CD and deployment platforms.
Design, develop and improve AI-powered agent workflows for legacy code modernisation
Build and maintain tooling for automated code analysis, migration and refactoring
Develop solutions in Python following clean, maintainable software engineering practices
Integrate AI-driven workflows with CI/CD and deployment platforms such as Tekton, ArgoCD and Ansible
Work with LLMs, prompting, agentic coding tools and tool-use workflows
Analyse legacy codebases and help transform them into modern, platform-approved technology stacks
Collaborate with application teams to turn real migration cases into reliable and repeatable automation
Experiment with different LLM providers, models and approaches in a vendor-agnostic environment
Contribute to testing, evaluation and continuous improvement of AI-generated migrations
Work with containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes
Strong programming skills in Python
Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including Git, code review, testing and clean code
Practical knowledge of CI/CD and containerisation, with Docker and Kubernetes
Hands-on experience with or strong interest in LLMs, prompt engineering and AI-assisted development
Understanding of agentic AI concepts, including agents, tool use and agent workflows
Ability to read and understand code written in different programming languages, including legacy technologies such as Java
Experience with CI/CD and GitOps tools such as Tekton or ArgoCD
Knowledge of Ansible or other Infrastructure as Code tools
Familiarity with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or similar solutions
Knowledge of LLM evaluation, context engineering or Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Experience with legacy modernisation, code migration or large-scale refactoring is a strong advantage
Familiarity with Java/Spring, frontend technologies or other modern target stacks is a plus
Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments, preferably banking
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to experimentation
Good communication skills in English and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team
