Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join a hands-on delivery team responsible for production backend services in a distributed, cross-functional environment with US stakeholders.

You will design and maintain Python backends, build REST or gRPC APIs, collaborate closely with EPAM engineers, mentor peers, and overlap working hours with US teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production Python backend development experience.
• Experience with API and service design (REST or gRPC), contract definition, and proto evolution.
• SQL and relational data management, including Google Cloud Spanner or equivalent, with schema reasoning and migrations.
• Advanced English communication to collaborate with US stakeholders in a distributed team.
• Ability to overlap working hours with US time zones and mentor teammates.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production-grade backend services using Python.
• Design and implement REST or gRPC APIs with contract compatibility.
• Work with relational databases, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization.
• Collaborate with technical leads and EPAM engineers through pairing and asynchronous communication.
• Overlap with US time zones to support real-time collaboration with stakeholders.
• Mentor and pair with team members on shared project scope.
